Frequently Asked Questions

  • West Door Yoga is located at 5 Fifth Avenue, Bay Shore, NY, in the corner building above Willy Nilly’s. We share the space with the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in a beautiful 100-year-old historic building. Please note there are no elevators; we are on the second floor, up the stairs to the left, through the West Door.

  • We offer a variety of classes, including vinyasa, yin, restorative, gentle flow, and classes tailored for mature or special populations. All levels are welcome, and we can assist with poses using props and accommodations to make yoga accessible to everyone.

  • No, you don’t need to be flexible to practice yoga! Yoga is for every body, and we’ll meet you where you are, supporting you with modifications and props to help you feel confident and comfortable.

  • We are a welcoming community of like-minded individuals who come together to practice yoga in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. Our co-founders, Dee Morrow and Lisa Hogan, are both 500-hour certified yoga instructors with extensive training in anatomy and special populations.

  • Yes! Dee Morrow is a registered nurse with years of experience in anatomy and injury prevention. Both Dee and Lisa Hogan are 500-hour certified yoga teachers with expertise in supporting diverse populations, including mature adults and individuals with specific needs.

  • While we encourage you to bring your own mat, we provide mats and props for your convenience. If you prefer to use your own equipment, feel free to bring it.

  • Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows for easy movement. Layers are helpful for temperature changes during class.

  • We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to check in, set up your space, and settle in before class begins.

  • You can sign up for classes online through our website, by calling us at 631-895-0900, or in person. Walk-ins are welcome if space permits, but pre-registration is encouraged to secure your spot.
